Too Many
Do you ever feel like there are just too many social networks or some other way on the internet to be "social" and cant decide which to use? I do. I want my friends to be able to keep in touch but I also dont want the entire world to know everything about me. Plus, how do people keep up with all of them, how do they keep all of them straight? Just felt like sharing.

Bc Tyson is so freakin smart
I was talking to a friend of mine about my heritage. I said I was more than a quarter Irish but less than half. So he proceeded to figure out the math for me.
5/16 = Irish
4/16 = Swedish
4/16 = Dutch
2/16 = English
1/16 = Scottish
This means on my father's side his father is full Swedish and his mother is full Irish. On my mother's side her father was full Dutch and her mother had one parent who was all English and one who was Scottish and Irish. Im guessing the math is right. lol

Recipes
If you like to be organized like me, here is a helpful tool. The one that sticks out the most from Real Simple is the recipe organizer. It allows you to type of recipes and then print them out neatly on paper. It also has a search tool for looking up recipes. I know I need ideas for simple cooking.
Go to Recipes
and click My Recipes on the left hand menu. Enjoy and take care.

Mac?
There has been so much promotion for mac products. There is not an Apple store near by but its not too far. I would have to save up for one of course but would it be worth it? Many would say yes, but what if something broke and I had to wait till I could drive at least 3,4 hours away to get it fixed. I watched a few videos on the new features of a Mac Book Air. I was impressed, except for not being able to just insert a cd or disc into it. It suggest to rent a movie from itunes I think of course to give them more money, not that they need it. I do have the itunes free music player on my own laptop already and like it more than the windows player. I do like the look of the white mac book. Well here is how one man feels about it.

Is it for Real?
Using my new web toy StumbleUpon, I came upon an amazing photographer named Mary Ellen Mark. It was a site with a group of her favorite photos she had taken and wrote about each one of them. The photos all consist of people from around the world. It inspired me to want to take pictures of my own. I have always enjoyed taking pictures of people and couldn't wait to get them developed but never had the confidence to do more than just pictures of family and friends. Knowing that this feeling of wanting to do something big seems to occur more than a few times. I cant help but wonder if its for real. Would it be amazing to travel the world? Of course it would. But the pressure to get an amazing photo in a short amount of time is a lot. There are many things I love about this kind of photography, no touch up, or any other reason for taking it other than to show real life. It is so easy to get caught up in things that don't really matter. I know I do. But after looking at those pictures, I was brought back to the real world. It is difficult to explain if you do not know what I mean. It let me see how most of the world lives, not as the few very privileged do. Thank you Mary Ellen Mark for sharing your photos and experiences.
StumbleUpon
My new favorite thing on the web is StumbleUpon. It says it "discovers websites based on your interest, learns what you like and brings you more."It is very easy to use and gets better the more you use it. I know I love it already and cant wait to find more.

Thank You Technology
I was just looking at pics and found the negatives and thought how great it is to not have to deal with negatives anymore. They dont fold nice and neat, fall out of the sleeve, just create a big mess usually. Now, still need to organize all the old pics that arent so neatly put onto a disc. One day it will all get done, I hope.

Religion
I was searching the word blog on google today and found the link for the myspace blogs. The most popular or commented on was about religion. I am not here to judge but to simply inform. The title of the blog is called "How do we know that Christians are Delusional?"This title really caught my eye as I am sure it did most myspace blog readers.

Kathy Griffin
This morning I got to watch Kathy Griffin's Allegedly on Bravo. I love her, she is so freaking hilarious. I have seen her show "Life On the D List" and loved it. I give it up to her for using her "D List" status to further her career. Thank you for making us laugh!

Can You Belive This?
"Millionaire Danny"
http://funbumper.com/
A college student is doing an experiment to see if he can become a millionaire by collecting pocket change. On the site it says to please donate any amount of pocket change to him for his experiment. I just hope no one is stupid enough to fall for this.

24 years old now!
I am now24 years old. For my sociology project I got a webkinz toy. Its soo cute. It is a mini terrier which is white with a pink and white doted bow. It was the softest one out of all of them. It is a very elaborate world they have on the net so I figured the best way to learn about it was to actually get one. So far I am earning point playing solitaire which is equal to money to buy stuff on the site for your webkinz. I will update later about how it is going.

Speech
I am trying to think of a visual aid speech to do for my class on Monday, yea i know procrastination. Something I want to share with the class, hmmm. I am thinking something to do with my favorite children's books because that is really enhanced with showing the actual books. Talk about how important books are in my family, show some that we still have, stuff like that. This sounds good. Now just to get all my other stuff done, journals, reading text books, research paper for english, ugh.

Just Writing
Just felt like writing. I signed up for hulu finally and now I am watching Buffy the vampire slayer season 2, yay! I love being able to have buffy and write my blog on the same screen. Today the "space lady" came to talk to the kids. It was fun to watch them learn about new things, which I did also. The NASA symbol, the blue one with the swoosh, is also called a meatball. So every time the symbol showed up the kids yell "meatball!" its so cute. I got to read to them a book about a little duck and his duckling siblings who were afraid of the dark. They loved it. I was talking to one of the teachers and I told her how no matter what is going on in the morning, when I walk into the classroom, I feel better. I am happy and enjoy being with the kids. She said that is a true sign of wanting to work with kids and that I am in the right field. It was so great to hear from her. She also said I have a gift for working with kids one on one. I do love working with kids one on one, I am just not sure how to find that in a job with a two year degree.

Sociology
For my sociology class a group of us are looking into commercials for toys and gender. It is not as easy as I once thought. I have found a ton of video clips of commercials including the very first Barbie Doll commercial. But when it comes to stats on it, no luck so far.

So Negative
As a girl myself I do understand why girls are so mean and negative to each other but I really wish it was not like that. Life is already hard without some girl calling you names, talking crap about you that isnt true and so on. I will admit I have been like this to other girls, but I am trying to not anymore. I find it hard to trust a lot of girls and I know a lot of other girls feel the same way. Most girls probably feel that they would rather have the girl come and talk to them about their problem instead of talking behind her back while acting nice to her face. That has got to be one of the worst feelings, to find out someone hates you when they acted nice to you. Just wanted to write about it.

Quotes
So take me as I am or have nothing at all.
Why do we ignore the ones that admire us, and admire the ones that ignore us.
Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option.
"Why try to fit in, When your born to stand out"
"A GREAT MAN, is one that can be a survivor, as opposed to somebody who is born into something and made a few right business decisions and has accomplished, what, money?" -Angelina Jolie
"Only God Can Judge Me"
"thou that does not kill me can only make me stronger"

Just for Fun
WORDS WOMEN USE ...
FINE
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
FIVE MINUTES
If she is getting dressed, this is half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given 5 more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
NOTHING
This is the calm before the storm. This means "something, " and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with 'Nothing' usually end in "Fine".
GO AHEAD
This is a dare, not permission. Don't do it!
LOUD SIGH
This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing".
THAT'S OKAY
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
THANKS
A woman is thanking you. Do not question it or faint. Just say you're welcome.
WHATEVER
It's a woman's way of saying F*** YOU!

Sunday Morning
Way to much homework to do today. Plus its gray outside which doesnt help. On my quest to be happier I have been thinking about religion. Growing up I went to a methodist church and was involved in the youth group. I also joined young life but both were not until high school. I got a lot out of both experiences and would do it again. But now religion is not really apart of my life. My father's family (well part of it) are devout catholics. They are apart of a community and all of their kids grow up together and are really close. It always seemed so special to be a part of. Then I found Candace Cameron Bure on myspace and added her. Just in case you dont know, she played DJ from full house. She has also devoted her life to God. She seems so genuinely happy and that is what I want. I listened to her testimony on her website. She was talking about the 10 commandments and mentioned homosexuality. I personally do not think it is wrong and that people should be with the one they love. I do think I could be a better person than I am today and can get guidance from the bible. I am still not sure what exactly I believe in but I want to explore it more. Try to find a middle ground maybe if that exists.

Sleep
Its getting late, at least for me because I have to get up at about 7am. I always watch Will and Grace right before going to sleep. Its a way to end the day on a happy note no matter what has happened earlier. Sociology of the Family at 930 and then no more class till Speech on Monday night. But trust me, there is plenty of homework to do in between. Ugh. I just hope for our usual cleaver comments that come in Sociology class.
"When something is growing out of someone."-student.
"You mean childbirth?"-teacher.
"Oh yea!"-student.
To be continued tomorrow.

First Blog
What is going on with me right now? Mostly school of course. I graduate this summer, yay! I cant wait. I am currently taking Speech, Sociology of the Family, English 112, and Observation. Then in the summer I need to take a First Aid, CPR class and I am done! This of course means I need to start looking for a full time job.
Did anyone see the Premier of the hills on Monday night? It looks like a great season this year. I usually love Mariah Carey, but when she sang her first live song, it was a lil rough. But I am no professional singer either. She does look great though, so whatever she is doing is working.
